p365: april 28

april 28: well, unfortunately buddy bear had to experience more crazy weather last night and another tornado watch and warning, but thankfully, he survived.

he relaxed by watching "the voice" on hulu and making some new friends. buddy bear is quite the social butterfly.

p365: april 27

april 27: i would also like to add that we only constantly prank david because we love him. so david, if you're reading this right now, instead of being upset, just embrace the love. :)

buddy bear had a long day. he survived his first north carolina tornado watch and warning. he decided to relax with a cup of mango mambo tea (which was shipped with him from his awesome aunt alicia) and some honey from his fellow honey bear. buddy bear is excited to see what tomorrow brings!

p365: april 26

april 26: drove back to nc. phonathon appreciation at feeney's. thai dinner with balls.

okay, i would just like to preface this by saying that i am not a bad person, i just love a good prank...and so does my friend alicia. so, one of our friends has this kind of "security" bear. his name is buddy bear and he's been around since before david was born. at one time or another alicia and i joked around that we were going to steal buddy bear. david freaked out, so of course we had to do it.

alicia and another cohort managed to swipe buddy bear out from under david's nose and alicia mailed him to me. did i mention that they're both from indiana? well i received buddy bear in the mail yesterday. from now on project 365 is going to revolve around buddy bear and his adventures down south. don't fret. he will be returned to his rightful owner come may when i visit for a weekend and a wedding. until then buddy bear is in for some crazy times!

p365: april 25

april 25: spent the day packing and hanging out with my family since i was leaving the next day. took my brother out to practice parallel parking and was actually impressed with how good of a driver he is. i was proud of him.

when you pull into our driveway there is a whole bunch of daffodils. the white ones have always been my favorite. sorry it's a little blurry, it was super windy!

april 23: my family did our easter dinner on saturday because my dad and brother worked on sunday and my mom and i went to visit my grandfather.

this is our easter dessert. it's a cake from junior's in ny. despite how it looks, it actually wasn't that good. i would much rather go to nyc and go to junior's in person and get some fresh cheesecake.

p365: april 22

april 22: got my hair chopped off...quite literally since it was about 5-6 inches. my mom also gave me my easter present early. i love disney movies!

hung out with some of my friends from home and went to see water for elephants. it was pretty good. i didn't have high expectations because i really liked the book and movies are never as good as the book. it was a well made movie, it just left a lot out.

april 21: flash mob day at hpu...or at least what was an attempt at a flash mob. the dances were pretty good, it just wasn't executed very well.

after work hit the road to go home for easter. the seven hour drive is five hundred times worse at night. awful. just awful.

april 20: met up with jessie and ktk for dinner at barbaritos then headed into the school for the petal points spring concert.

i always enjoy their concerts. they're such a talented group of girls and they always pick great songs.

april 19: i fail at life and am a week behind...again.

went to mi pueblo for catie hammond's birthday. it was nice to hang out with everyone. i miss seeing them on a daily basis.

april 18: tough being back at work after a great weekend. got some packing done. working in an office has a few upsides. easy access to empty paper ream boxes being one of them.

dinner with bruce and becky. stopped at ed mckay's. i'm still working on rebuilding my music library after my last laptop go stolen. purchases of the evening: jon mclaughlin's indiana and jimmy eat world's bleed american.

april 17: home from kentucky. judged the step for a cause. was immensely impressed by all of the talent i saw. was so proud of my little alyssa. phi mu rocked it.

april 16: more hillbilly days. then went "hiking" at breaks national park. apparently it's the grand canyon of the south. either way it was pretty.

april 15: hillbilly days!!!! so much fun. i love people watching and i got to meet some of kelly's friends!

after we were done there we went to the swinging bridge and the overlook. kentucky is beautiful. i love the mountains, even if it took forever for my ears to adjust.

april 14: super blurry since kelly wouldn't slow down the car. made it to pikeville, ky for hillbilly days with kelly & lauren!

april 13: made myself a wonderful dinner of bbq chicken, brown rice, and panko crusted green beans. an my last mexican soda. pineapple this time.

april 12: honestly cannot remember one thing about this day.

i did buy some mexican sodas at taco corner the day before. i must have enjoyed one the next night. mmm. grapefruit.

april 11: official acceptance letter came in the mail. woot!

april 10: home. child care at the journey. dinner with bruce, becky, and mcgee. cupcake from hot pink cake stand for dessert. this one's banana honey cinnamon with cream cheese frosting.

april 9: walked around the azalea festival with catie. saw lots of fun crafts and vendors and of course made a trip to the hot pink cake stand.

relaxed then went for dinner with catie's parents. then relaxed some more.

april 7: i'm obviously way behind on uploading pictures and i honestly don't remember what i was going to say with each picture, so i'm just going to post the pictures.  if i remember something then i'll add it.

olive hates when i pack. it makes her antsy. i was packing for wilmington for the weekend and she was acting nuts.

april 6: so since the day before was a whirlwind i met with my former advisor to discuss my options and i basically came to the conclusion that i would be crazy to turn down the offer that ball state had given me.

so, this is a picture of the email telling me i was accepted and had a t.a. assistantship. so awesome. i am so blessed.

april 5: um. today was a whirlwind of emotions and panic and anxiety.

i found out i got accepted to one grad school and freaked out because i had convinced myself that i wanted to do the elon program. so all day i was having an internal battle with myself.

came home and jen was hanging out with one of her friends. we all sat up talking for awhile. olive got a hold of a pair of jen's sunglasses. they're supposed to be rayban's, but we think they're fake.

april 4: another monday and another week.

nothing exciting really. i painted my nails with my new nail polish. highlight of my day.

door wide open

i am a stupid, stupid human. for the past how many months i have been whining, praying, and yelling to God that i need direction.  i need a sign.  i need to know where i should be and what i should be doing.  i was nothing short of throwing a temper tantrum and demanding that God listen and respond to me.

and he has. and now what am i doing? i'm hesitating. i'm scared and panicking. and i'm questioning if this is what i'm supposed to be doing. i mean really. do i need him to slap me in the face with it? apparently so.

it's amazing to see how the Lord provides, even when we doubt him. he has basically paved my way with yellow bricks, pointing me in the right direction.  there are still a few small details that i need to figure out and take care of, but the Lord has given everything else to me.

he has opened this door for me, handed me a compass pointing in the right direction, and now it's up to me to follow through. thankfully, i have wonderful friends who help me to realize that this is where i should be going and what i should be doing, and that it's not a trap. so i'm going to strap on my backpack and run through this wide open door and not look back, trusting, that through all of this, God is with me, showing me the way. 

hello grad school and another chapter of my life!

p365: april 3

april 3: went to discovery bible church again this morning. the message was a little bit different.  it was more historical and fact heavy, but it was setting up the background for the next few weeks. after church grabbed some lunch with amy and then headed into phonathon.

it was a pretty good afternoon. after work came home to relax. i bought this book when i was on vacation in florida but haven't had time to pick it back up and read it again until today. it's such very good so far. i've enjoyed all of dan brown's books. i'm hoping i'll have more time to finish it!

p365: april 2

april 2: what a crazy day! woke up and went to bruch at bruce and becky's with a bunch of people, which was a lot of fun.  then i went to durham for the day with kelly and lauren. it was wonderful and i fell in love with the little city. it's just so quirky and unique and the stores and restaurants are so original. i've decided that if i ever settle down in north carolina, i will move to the raleigh/durham area.

after the day out came back and went out to dinner with balls, rachel, and caitlin. it was so good to catch up with them! i haven't gotten to see or talk to them in such a long time. i miss seeing them everyday in slane after lunch.  i've realized that it's the smallest things about college that i miss the most. that's one of them.

after dinner just relaxed at home. i was trying to read but olive kept disturbing me by prancing all over my night stand and knocking over my lamp.  i caught the culprit in the middle of her crime.

p365: april 1

april 1: short day at work because it was a friday and i work on sunday.  mofo was in town for initiation so i met up with her and balls for lunch. it was good to see her!

after lunch i came home and did some chores and cleaned up the house. becky had given me a bunch of her things to photograph, so i spent the rest of the afternoon photographing some of her artwork.  these are a few of my favorites. mini coffee mugs.

p365: march 31

march 31: went in to work early for a meeting and to go out for lunch with everyone. we went to this little place called taco corner in downtown high point. it looked super sketchy, but it was one of the best mexican restaurants that i have ever ate at! it was authentic mexican and it was so good!

came home after phonathon and had my package from amazon. i had been looking for this nail polish ever since florida! kelly and i had gotten our nails done and saw this color and wanted it.  i couldn't find it anywhere, but finally found it online!
